2017 Mini Camp Information

Marching Band 2017!

Our first meeting of the 2017 marching band will be at North Cobb on Thursday and Friday, May 18-19 from 5-8pm. ALL students participating in the fall marching band are to be present at both days of camp. It will be a chance for rookies to meet their section leaders and veteran members, play the show music, and learn the basics of our visual technique.

Parents: On Thursday, May 18th, there is a mandatory commitment meeting at 7:00 pm in the North Cobb media center. Here you will sign all necessary forms, have the opportunity to join a volunteer group, and learn about our student protocol and band handbook.

2017 Band Banquet Form Now Available

Join us on Saturday, May 13 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Kennesaw First Baptist Church for the year-end band banquet. Tickets are $15.00 per person until April 26, 2016. After April 26, 2017 the price will increase to $18.00 per person. Get the full details on the banquet order form (PDF).

2017 Marching Band Commitment Form

The North Cobb Marching Band is now registering for the 2017 Fall Season. Reserve your spot by submitting your deposit and signed agreement form by April 21, 2017. Each Band Member is committed to full participation in all regular season marching activities: North Cobb Football games, parades, Summer band camp, Fall mini-camps and up to three band competitions.. Kennesaw Christmas Parade is this Saturday!

The North Cobb Marching Band will be participating in the annual City of Kennesaw Christmas Parade this coming Saturday, December 3. The day's schedule is:

  • 10:00 a.m. - Bandroom opens; pick up uniform
  • 11:00 a.m. - Meet at Kennesaw First Baptist Church
  • 12:00 noon - Parade begins
  • 1:00 p.m. - Parade ends; return uniform

We're thrilled to be part of this important event and we hope you can come out to support the band and our community!

Our North Cobb Warriors have advanced to the GHSA Football Playoffs Round 3 (Elite 8). Our next game will be:

****All Band Members should be in attendance for the football play-off game unless excused by Mr. Frazier or Mr. Pannell. Please do all you can in order to be in attendance for the football game and to help cheer our AWESOME WARRIOR FOOTBALL TEAM to another VICTORY!!!!! Go Warriors!!!

We've got fleece jackets, Wind Symphony hoodies, band hoodies in Orange or Blue and the ever-popular flannel pants. We encourage you to take a look and see if there is something special you would like to surprise your band student with for the holidays.

This is a pre-order sale only. Order forms & payment are due to the band box by this Friday, November 18th. Forms turned in after Friday or without payment will not be processed. Items will be delivered to the band room for pickup on Dec. 19th.

Raffle Ticket Sales Now Underway

Our annual raffle ticket fundraiser kicked off on July 27, 2016. This year's fundraiser has some awesome prizes, such as a 50" Samsung Smart LED TV, two $300.00 Southwest Airlines Gift Cards, a GoPro Hero 4 Camera, Beats Solo2 Headphones, a Samsung Galaxy TabA 8", and a Bose Soundlink Speaker.

Each band student is required to sell a minimum of 10 tickets. The cost of each ticket is $10.00 so each family is required to turn in $100 (including any "unsold" tickets of the original 10). Each ticket sold beyond the 10 minimum will receive an $8.00 credit towards your student's band account. Students and/or parents can obtain additional tickets in packets of 10 from Mr. Frazier.

Please turn in your sold tickets in sets of 10 by placing your ticket stubs with the money in the lock box next to the uniform room in the band room. Please be sure to include your name, section, ticket numbers and dollar amount (e.g. John Doe, Trumpets, tickets 81-90, 2511-2520, $200.00) on the envelope and your account will be credited. All tickets and money collected are due and must be turned in by Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

The winning raffle tickets will be drawn during the Homecoming football game on Friday, October 14, 2016. Ticket winners do not need to be present to win.

Order Your Dinner for Family Day

Dinner orders are now being accepted for this year's Family Day, which will be on Saturday, August 13, 5:00-9:00 p.m. Early-bird discounts are available if you purchase dinner tickets by July 29. Order Your End-of-Year DVD/Blu-ray

Order forms are now available for the 2015-16 End-of-Year Slideshow. All forms should be put in the bandroom payment box no later than Friday, May 6. Payments can be made through PayPal or the band payment box. [Download the Order Form (PDF)]

This year, both the DVD and Blu-ray versions will be two disc sets. The first disc will have the slideshow featuring pictures of all the students, divided with a menu that sorts the marching band by instrument. The second disk includes the 2016 Senior Tribute, the Parent Volunteer slideshow, video of band performances from the marching season, The "Williams Impersonation" section, and some archive photos of Mr. Williams.

Why get the Blu-ray? It has stunning resolution and clarity. The Blu-ray also features 6 pictures of each student vs. 4 in the DVD version and will include the video from the last two years of marching band performances.

For $3.00 more, add your student's picture to the cover of the DVD or the Blu-ray.

Color Guard Auditions being held April 18-22

Come audition for the North Cobb Warrior Marching Band Color Guard! Auditions will be held April 18–22 at the Awtrey Middle School Gymnasium from 5:00-8:00 p.m. each day. If you have a dance background and are looking for another outlet to show off your skills, this is the right place for you. Please wear appropriate athletic attire, socks, athletic/tennis shoes each day for the audition. The band program will supply the necessary equipment for the audition week.

Drum Line Auditions being held April 29-30

All percussionists in the North Cobb Band Program and incoming percussionists to the North Cobb Band Program are invited to audition for the 2015-2016 Warrior Marching Band Drum Line. Auditions will be held on Friday April, 29, 6:00–9:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 30, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. You will need to wear athletic attire, tennis shoes and bring a pair of drum sticks (preferably a pair of marching drum sticks). We look forward to seeing you at the auditions!

City of Kennesaw proclaims North Cobb Marching Band Day!

Congratulations to the North Cobb High School Marching Band for being awarded a Proclamation by the City of Kennesaw that Friday, March 18, 2016 be deemed North Cobb High School Marching Band Day!!! This is a great honor and tremendous testimony of the relationship the Band Program has with our incredible Kennesaw/Acworth Community! A special Thank You goes to the North Cobb Drum Line for their performance in the Marietta Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on January 18, 2016 that sparked this great award. The pictures show Kennesaw City Councilwoman, Yvette Daniels, SCLC member Ben Williams, and principal Bucky Horton presenting the band with the award on Wednesday, February 10.

Winter Symphonic Band Camp to be on Sat., Feb. 27

Our Winter Symphonic Band Camp will be held on Saturday, February 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is a very important day for all of our concert bands and must be attended in order to perform at LGPE in March. We have a wonderful outside staff of instructors coming to work with our students on that day to help us push to that next level of excellence. Three NCHS students make All-State Band!

Congratulations to the following students for making the Georgia Music Educators Association Georgia All-State Band:

  • Therese Espino – Flute
  • Alison Goddard – Oboe
  • Brandon Hardegree – Euphonium

These students will spend the weekend of March 3 – 5 at the Classis Center in Athens performing with nationally renowned conductors!

LGPE Performance Times Announced

Performance times for Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) at Lassiter High School have been finalized! The performance times are as follows:

  • Concert Band – Thursday, March 17, 3:40 p.m.
  • Symphonic Band – Friday, March 18, 1:55 p.m.
  • Wind Symphony – Saturday, March 19, 3:05 p.m.
  • Schedules for each band will be coming soon and posted here on the website.

Falcons Game Itinerary

The North Cobb High School Marching Band has been selected to perform halftime for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, January 3, 2016. This is a great honor for our band and our school! Performing in front of 40,000 people will be amazing! Get the full itinerary >

Winter Concert to be held Dec. 10

The NCHS concert band, symphonic band, and wind symphony will present their annual winter concert on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Jeanette McLeod Theater at North Cobb High School. Everyone is invited to hear the sounds of the season. Admission is free. More details available here >

Cobb Exhibition Itinerary

On Monday, October 12, the North Cobb Band will perform at the annual Cobb County Marching Band Exhibition. This event is designed to allow students and parents to watch some of the best bands in the state in a positive and encouraging environment. Get the full details >

Band Alumni: Join Us October 2 for Alumni Night!

Mr. Greg Williams, Director of Bands, invites all former North Cobb High School Band members to our official Alumni Night on October 2, 2015. Bring your instrument and play in the stands with the band, or simply come and relive some memories from the past. You do not have to play to attend.

The cost is $15, which includes the alumni shirt, admission to the game, and light snacks after the game in the cafeteria. Additional game tickets are $7.00, children under 5 are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate prior to the band entering the game.

Last Chance! Order your Chaperone/Volunteer Shirt!

A second and final order for chaperone/volunteer shirts will be submitted on Friday, Aug. 28. If you would like to order a shirt, please complete the order form and place it with a check made out to NCHS Band in the grey band box next to the uniform room by Thursday, August 27. The shirts are $33 + $5 for personalization. Please add $2 for any shirt size XXL or larger.

Volunteers Needed for Uniform Fitting

Band students will be fitted for their band uniforms during the first full week of band camp (July 20-27). We are seeking parent volunteers to help with these fittings. Please sign up using our SignUpGenius form.

Some student uniforms may require little or no alteration, but others – especially the freshmen – could require a fair amount. We currently have more than 200 band members. As you can imagine this would be very overwhelming for just one person.
